Once you have the standoffs all screwed in you are ready to install the motherboard.

First -start the motherboard installation by lining up the rear connectors-the USB, PS/2, video and other ports-with the holes in the I/O shield at the rear of the case.

Once the connectors have been poked through the I/O shield, lower the front of the motherboard onto the standoffs.

You will check again before you screw it down to make sure that the standoffs are in their proper locations.

Again, it is critical to get in this step right so be careful, the least that can happen if you short a standoff is the computer won’t boot the worst that can happen is a ruined motherboard.

Now you can insert the screws and screw it down gently. Don’t over tighten the motherboard screws! Snug is fine.
