For a pisonet business to really work, we will need to talk about the most important thing needed – choosing your internet provider and connection.

Where to Look for Pisonet Internet Provider

Search local. Don’t go and check out these big telecoms internet packages, you will just be disappointed. Instead, try and search for local internet provider in your area. The best thing about choosing locally is that their support is accessible and they have a physical office that you can visit and contact anytime. And best of all, they usually offer unlimited internet surfing.

Private Internet Provider. This is also about searching local, but sometimes, not all local internet provider in your area can “reach” your location. Say you live far from the city, chances are these local internet providers don’t have access yet to your area. So the best second option is to check out if there are private internet provider in your area.

To give more information, these private internet providers usually are expensive. But if you are out of options and your location is really that “remote” and can’t be access by internet from local providers or even broadband connection from smart or globe, then you can try them out. If you want more information on it, we will be posting an upcoming post regarding it: Pisonet Business – No Internet Options? So stay tuned by liking and following our page: Gadget Specs PH Facebook.

Get it from the Big Telecoms. Well, this is the last thing you might want to go for and that is to subscribe to a telecom’s internet packages – most popular are from globe and smart. The very big downside of this is that these telecoms have limits on how much internet data you can consume. For Globe internet promos for example, they have this P999 package that let you only consume 5GB of data for a month! That’s not really big, for a 5 unit pisonet computer shop, that can easily be consume for a day – especially if you have users that love to stream or watch youtube videos.

But anyway, the choice is yours. You can check them out as they might have something for you. They also offer internet business plan that you might want to check out.

How Fast Your Internet Connection Should Be?

Well, for customers to “like” your pisonet shop, you must go to something with higher connection speed. Minimum recommended speed is 5mbps for a 5 unit pisonet shop. That’s 1mbps for 1 unit. But you don’t really get what you pay for sometimes. But anyway, here is a table for recommended internet speed.

No. of Pisonet Computers

Recommended Speed

3 – 5 units

At least 2-3mbps (60-100kbps each unit)

5-10

At least 5mbps (50-100kbps each unit)

10-15

At least 10mbps ((60-100kbps per unit)

15+

At least 10-15mbps

Compute your Pisonet Internet Speed base on per Unit

As you might notice, we added additional info regarding how much speed should a per unit get. This is very important so that you can plan and determine what internet package to use for your pisonet business. It is recommended that in general, each computer must get at least a decent, uninterrupted 60-100kbps of speed. So multiply it by the number of unit you want and that will be your threshold on which internet package for your pisonet business you need to choose.

Managing Your Internet Connection in Pisonet

There are generally 2 types of pisonet customers – those who play games and those who just surf the internet. Customers who play games must always get a decent flow on internet data to avoid lags especially if they are playing online games. Surfing customers on the other hand don’t need much.

But the thing is, if you have people playing games and some people surfing the net, generally, if you have one router switch, the ones playing games will be given more data than those surfing.

Pisonet Internet Connection Lags

Have you heard why online gamers in your computer shop hate Youtube? Or other video streaming websites? It’s because they consume and pull internet speed from other users in your shop. Though we mentioned that the ones playing games will get more data, it’s not true as always. When someone go and watch Youtube, it will pull as much speed resource as it can giving your other pisonet users less speed.

Here is representation for a 4 pisonet unit shop.

Surfing the Net Playing Games Playing Games Playing Games
30kbps 100kbps 100kbss 100kbps

Ideally, that’s how it should be. Customer surfing the net will be given less data as they’re just surfing and it doesn’t use a lot of speed resource. But if someone goes youtubing:

Starts Youtube Playing Games (LAG) Playing Games (LAG) Playing Games (LAG)
240kbps 30kbps 30kbps 30kbps

Yep, that’s what will happen. This is just an illustration but you get the point.

How to Limit Internet Speed in Pisonet Shops

Thankfully, there are software that you can install to limit and regulate a pisonet or computer unit will use. You can assign download speed limit or upload speed limit per computer. There are a lot of these software speed limiter but the most popular is the NetLimiter.

We will be creating a separate post for this and how you can install Netlimiter on your pisonet shop. This will greatly increase your users satisfaction as your customer will experience a lag free gaming or surfing.

  1. Hi admin. Have read your blog about internet connection for pisonet. May I ask po is 3mbps with unli data enough for 5 units of pisonet? Im from surigao del sur. Newbie in pisonet business. Would appreciate your answer po. Thank you

    1. I advise that you go for 5mbps. Depending on the reliability of your internet provider… in most cases, when they say 3mbps, it means UP TO 3MBPS. So you might end up less than that if you go for just 3mbps.

Also consider your user’s behaviour. Do they stream videos on youtube? Gamers? Or just plain internet surfers? Youtube and gamers requires more than 3mbps. But as a start, 3mbps might be good and see. If you think you need upgrading, then go.

      Hope this helps. 🙂
