How to Install Memory on the Motherboard

After You install Cpu on the Motherboard this next article will cover the Install Memory on the Motherboard tutorial.

Step 5 – is an easy task Installing the RAM memory sticks. The Asus P4P8x has dual channel memory. The RAM has to be placed in certain slots to make this feature work.

The slots for dual channel memory on the Asus P4p8x are color coded blue. You can consult your motherboard documentation to install your paticular RAM.

Once you know which slots you are going to use, You will examine the RAM and the memory slots on the motherboard.

Note that the DDR RAM has a notch on the bottom that is off center.

Install memory This is to insure that it only fits into the memory slot one way.

Line up the notch on the memory stick with the corresponding key on the memory slot. Use your thumbs and apply even force on both ends of the RAM stick until it is forced into the slot.

You will make sure that the retainer clips on each end snap into place.

Repeat this procedure if you installing more than one stick of RAM

And that’s how you install the memory on the motherboard in your computer. Now, it is time to installing motherboard into your computer case.
